This was suggested by developers some time ago, as not many wine coders monitor the bug database. It actually does work, I reported a bug some time ago, an nothing happened. After telling wine-devel, things started moving and bugs ware actually fixed, for example bug 1299 just sat there for months, once I told wine-devel a patch was submitted and committed after a few days.
