Ok, I installed it and rebooted to a standard Kernel. Still reboots the machine if I run a wine app. I tried to run notepad, then tried to run regedit.

Of course. Running Wine as a normal user cannot reboot the computer, it
seems to trigger a problem that lies somewhere else.

There seems to be a possible candidate: buggy Xlibs. Wine20031212 has,
by experiment, enabled threading in the Xlibs. If you were able to run
the previous wine (from November) but not the latest then there is a
chance that this patch: http://cvs.winehq.com/patch.py?id=10616 helps.

Please give it a try.

Rein.
Now, with the new patched version, I get this error compiling:

gcc -shared -Wl,-Bsymbolic,-z,defs,-init,__wine_spec_init,-fini,__wine_spec_fini winearts.drv.spec.o arts.o audio.o winearts.drv.dbg.o -o winearts.drv.so -L../../../libs/wine -lwine -L/usr/lib -ldl -lartsc -lpthread -L../../../libs/uuid -lwine_uuid -L../../../libs/port -lwine_port -lm -lc
audio.o(.text+0xd02): In function `wodPlayer_WriteMaxFrags':
/home/jgiles/wine/dlls/winmm/winearts/../../../include/winbase.h:1949: undefined reference to `HeapRealloc'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [winearts.drv.so] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jgiles/wine/dlls/winmm/winearts'
make[1]: *** [winmm/winearts] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jgiles/wine/dlls'
make: *** [dlls] Error 2

Compilation failed, aborting install.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks

Joe
