I am basically a newbie to the linux world, and I am not sure on how to fix this problem I am getting with Wine. Here is where I am currently:
I have 1.6GHZ P4 with 512 mb of ram with both Windows XP and Mandrake Linux 9.1 installed. I tried using the .rpm files to install wine, but that never worked. So I decided to compile from source. I downloaded the most current release (Wine-20031212.tar.gz) and installed it via the ./tools/wineinstall command (I also told it to use the already installed XP partiton for its files). I then tried to start notepad and it started great. However, if I were to try the "Open" or "Save" menu items, I get this error message:
"Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x406fbc56. Do you wish to debug it?"
And this is what is recorded in the terminal:
