for yahoo! : there is a linux version (available as rpm ! a must-have)
for irc : xchat.
GAIM can also be used to connect to both Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, AIM,
Napster, TOC, Sephire and Gabu-Gabu. It's pretty complete. It only lacks
Voice chat capabilities.
