Hi, I'm having trouble running programs with Wine 20030219. I managed to install half-life about a month ago and got it to start, but would freeze when starting a new game. I finally got back to trying it again a few weeks ago and I'm getting some strange behavior. If I start half-life without anything occupying the sound device /dev/dsp the program fails to start and displays the following error on the console: fixme:cdrom:CDROM_GetIdeInterface not implemented for BSD fixme:reg:GetSystemInfo not yet supported on this system err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x2813f664 "../../loader/module.c: loader_section" wait timed out, retrying (60 sec) tid=000a wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger... err:seh:start_debugger Couldn't start debugger ("debugger/winedbg 8 88") (2) Read the Wine Developers Guide on how to set up winedbg or another debugger Now if I'm using the sound device and start half-life it starts right away, but obviously with no sound. This behavior is reproducable and it is happening with other applications, ie when I try to install Warcraft 3. Thanks for any help, and let me know if/what information I need to provide.
