Quick search on Google news group archive found a few interesting articles. E.g. this one: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=3966984C.434DD13B%40karwin.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dinterbase%2B%2522linux%2Bclient%2522%26hl%3Den%26btnG%3DGoogle%2BSearch discusses using of full Interbase server installation (it's small - about 12Mb) as a client. If possible I *strongly* recommend to use available native version instead of trying to run Windows one.
