Thank you for the reply.

The partiction is mounted as 755.  How do I change that to be 777?

ps Wine is run a root, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Again,
Thanks,
dan

Hello all,

I am having a consistent problem with write permission errors. Programs
load and execute nearly flawlessly.

The file system is an independent bootable directory.

How should the partition be mounted?

Read/Write (except if it's a ntfs partition of course)

What are the critical areas in the
config file?

Usually the C: drive entry and the drive entry
corresponding to the temporary directory (see the
'temp' entry under [Wine])
