Dear all,

We will be hosting a workshop
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://sa2025.iavceivolcano.org/workshop-10/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!YBMzzwPLV70BQmVWpBmiaIMoOtan83Q5RVTjF3OqOc1G5Kib1thiGdi2KBJZu_iDb7QUlSUEUkA5PF-jCTb4DdtDCQ$>
at
the 2025 IAVCEI Scientific Assembly titled "Volcanic ash: strengthening the
connection between operational response and research". This workshop
provides a forum for those with operational responsibilities during
ash-producing events â?? State Volcano Observatories (SVOs) and Volcano Ash
Advisory Centers (VAACs) â?? to engage with researchers working on volcanic
ash, from reconstructing past eruptions, to plume dynamics, to ash
characteristics, to impacts. The aim is to build connections between the
operational and research communities, and increase awareness of operational
realities and emerging research.

Ahead of the workshop, we are keen to hear from the volcanic ash community
as to the challenges faced by all (researchers, observatories, VAACs,
decision makers). We are collecting this information through this survey
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLpv-0VW2SY__7mMXB4pod8-Uxmhsom2It9S7GelihzWbMLA/viewform?usp=sharing__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!YBMzzwPLV70BQmVWpBmiaIMoOtan83Q5RVTjF3OqOc1G5Kib1thiGdi2KBJZu_iDb7QUlSUEUkA5PF-jCTYgDfCROA$>.
The responses will form a starting point for the content of the workshop
and enable the workshop organisers to ensure that the event effectively
addresses attendee needs.

*Please submit your responses to the survey by 28/02/2025*. If you have any
questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch through p.jarvis@xxxxxxxxxx.
In the meantime, if you are interested in attending the workshop, please
make sure you register when registering to attend the conference.

Many thanks,
