In 2020 he completed his PhD studies in Volcanology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He worked as Head of the Volcanology Department at the National Center for Disaster Prevention, a Federal Government agency in Mexico, where his duties included seismic and geochemical monitoring of the volcanic activity of Popocatépetl.
