Seminar title: *Building upper crustal magma reservoirs: lessons from merging geological, petrological, and structural evidence in fossil Andean systems* Abstract: A number of issues regarding the nature of magma reservoirs emplaced in the upper crust have been debated over the last decades, especially those processes recorded in plutonic bodies. Certainly, the search for and thorough documentation of new natural cases will help us to complete our observations and explore the conciliation of existing conceptual models for the evolution of magmas in the upper crust. In this seminar, I will summarize the lessons learned from different plutonic systems emplaced in central Chile during the Miocene. Using a combination of diverse methodological approaches, we infer the magmatic history ranging from early injections to late-stage differentiation and genesis of high-silica magmas. We aim to contribute to the debate by providing a natural laboratory to explore the time scales of magma transport and spatial distribution in the upper crust.
