His research focuses on using cross-correlation methods to improve volcano earthquake catalogs and applying machine learning techniques to detect and analyze volcanic tremor. Darren is currently working on applying these methods to decades of data from Pavlof Volcano, Alaska, and integrating multidisciplinary observations to develop a new conceptual model of the volcano's shallow plumbing system. He is also affiliated with the Alaska Volcano Observatory, where he contributes to monitoring efforts.
