The â??Commission of Explosive Volcanismâ?? In the name of the current leaders of CEV, I am herewith announcing that CEV is organising elections of its board members. The elections are going to take place via online ballot on the IAVCEI website. In the light of this, we are looking forward to receiving applications for the following CEV roles: - Two positions for co-leadership - One position for secretary - One position for social media & website officer - One position for event coordinator. - One position for Early Career Researcher We are expressly encouraging Early Career researchers to become an active and leading part in this commission. The primary aims of CEV are: - To foster modern, process-oriented studies of pyroclastic rocks, - To encourage communication between scientists from the various branches of research directed to such studies, - To provide input into other areas such as volcanic hazards and atmospheric impacts, and - To promote interest in explosive volcanism and its products. Research interests focus on the processes of explosive eruptions, volcano evolution, and magmatic influences on eruption dynamics. Applicants must be members of IAVCEI and CEV (or join the CEV) by writing to jorge.romero@xxxxxx.
