The postdoc position will crystallise an on-going collaboration between the Njord Centre and the Department of Mathematics (Prof. Andreas Carlson, UiO). The postdoc project focuses on the design of quantitative experiments of fluid injection in a visco-elastic gels. The position is funded through project "Beyond Elasticity â?? How inelastic properties of crustal rocks control the propagation of dykes and sills in volcanic plumbing systems", funded by the highly competitive FRIPRO programme of the Research Council of Norway. The postdoc fellow will evolve in a multidisciplinary group of early career scientists at the crossing between geology, physics and applied mathematics. The postdoc fellow will benefit from the advanced facilities and competences of the Oslo Analogue Laboratory and of the hydrodynamics Laboratory of the Mathematics Department at UiO. The Postdoc will have opportunities to join geological field campaigns in the Oslo Fjord and in the Sarek National Park, northern Sweden.
