As NVEWS Project Manager, works in collaboration with VSC and Volcano Hazards Program leadership to develop and approve multi-year work plans and schedules to develop and support the projectâ??s national-scale plans to ensure that volcanoes are monitored at levels commensurate to their threats. Plans and schedules NVIS activities to support observatory operations, interoperability, early warning, and data dissemination; adjusts staffing levels or procedures; decides, in consultation with technical experts and end users, methodologies to achieve objectives. Analyzes benefits and costs of accomplishing work in-house versus contracting. Plans and oversees the NVIS budget; tracks progress and performance; works with VSC leadership to ensure proper reporting. Develops cooperative relationships with other USGS and external partners who can contribute to NVIS mission. Serves as a senior technical advisor on volcano information services for the USGS and the USGS Natural Hazards Program mission area.
