Dear colleagues,

please consider submitting your abstracts to the session #409 "Multi-scale
and multi-parametric geodetic monitoring and modeling for studying and
forecasting volcanic activity", for the next CoV conference in Antigua,
Guatemala, onm Feb 11-17, 2024. Deadline for abstract submission is
October 8.

The session aims to bring together researchers and experts in the field of
geodetic monitoring and modeling for studying and forecasting volcanic
activity. Volcanic eruptions pose a significant threat to life and
property, and geodetic monitoring has proven to be an effective tool in
mitigating these risks. In recent years, advances in geodetic monitoring
techniques and modeling approaches have led to a better understanding of
deep and shallow mama plumbing systems, volcanic processes, and improved
forecasting capabilities.

Topics of interest for this session include, but are not limited to:
â?? Multi-scale geodetic monitoring techniques, such as InSAR, GPS, and
on-situ ground deformation monitoring, for studying volcanic activity.
â?? Multi-parametric monitoring approaches that combine geodetic data among
them and with other types of data, such as seismic, gas emissions, and
thermal monitoring, to better understand volcanic activity.
â?? Advanced modeling approaches for simulating volcanic processes and
forecasting volcanic activity, such as Bayesian networks, machine learning,
and data assimilation.
â?? Case studies that demonstrate the application of multi-scale and
multi-parametric geodetic monitoring and modeling in studying and
forecasting volcanic activity.
â?? Strategies for incorporating geodetic monitoring and modeling into
volcanic hazard assessment and risk management.

We invite submissions of abstracts for oral presentations and posters that
address these topics. This session provides a forum for exchanging ideas
and knowledge, and for fostering collaborations among researchers and
practitioners working in this field.

Conveners: Alessandro Bonforte, Flavio Cannavo, Iole Serena Diliberto,
Milton Ordóñez, Christelle Wauthier
