Scope of the position: The DRCS Director is responsible for the management and coordination of a whole-of-NASA approach to the operational activities supporting domestic and international organizations with disaster response responsibilities and mandates. The DRCS Director will ensure alignment with the Disasters Program and Applied Sciences strategies, working with NASA Earth Science Centers. Duties include: 1. Manage the DRCS Program Office coordinating with NASA Earth Science Centers to execute on the DRCS Vision, Mission, and Purpose, ensuring and upholding its Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) principles. 2. Define DRCS Program Office staff performance plans and contractor statements of work. Supervise and assess staff performance, create opportunities for their professional growth, and seek meaningful recognition for superior service. 3. Develop, monitor, evaluate, and adapt DRCS Annual Plan informed by needs assessments, After-Action Assessments, and budget (including regional and thematic response priorities) in coordination with Disasters Program Manager and DRCS Committee. 4. Actively promote, engage, and sustain new and existing stakeholder and key partner relationships, ensuring a balanced portfolio of Private Sector Engagement (PSE) activities aligned with Disasters and Applied Sciences Programs' strategies. 5. Guide development of data and record retention and archiving plan, task and engagement tracking system, and other Office and DRCS management needs. 6. Develop and execute an effective budget for the DRCS Program Office based on programmatic direction that is responsive to assessed Centers and external partners capabilities enabling the purpose of the DRCS. 7. Provide monthly reports evaluating seasonal trends and quarterly reviews of DRCS progress and forecasts to the Disasters Program Manager and the DRCS Advisory Committee.
