I am looking for an enthusiastic student for a fully-funded PhD studentship (3.5 years) at the University of Exeter (UK, Cornwall) to commence on 25 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The project aims to develop emulators for volcanic forcing and regional-global scale climate impacts, and to apply these to address various challenges including simulating past volcanic impacts on climate over multi-millennial timescales, stochastic approaches to quantify potential future volcanic impacts on climate, and developing systems for rapid responses following major eruptive crises.
