The fellow will participate in two NASA-funded projects aiming at understanding the development of volcanic plumes and their impacts on atmospheric reanalysis and data assimilation. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative and programming skills and familiarity with the representation of volcanic plumes in plume and/or general circulation models. Candidates with expertise in aerosol modeling and an interest in studying volcanic plumes are also encouraged to apply. Qualifications: 1) Masterâ??s or PhD in atmospheric science, geology, physics, or another field relevant to aerosol and/or volcanic plume modeling on or before August 1, 2023; 2) Proficient coding skills; 3) Expertise in aerosol modeling. This is initially a 1-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal to 2 years. The salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $62,000 per year.
