A virtual workshop that will be offered in the period 27-30 March 2023. The workshop is on the use of the electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) with particular emphasis on modern developments and geological applications. Meet some of our lecturers: *John Donovan* is the former director of the CAMCOR MicroAnalytical Facility at the University of Oregon. Since 2021 he holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Oregon. John is also president of Probe Software, Inc. a company that distributes software for Electron Micro Probe Analyzer (EPMA) acquisition, automation and analysis. *Ariadni Georgatou *is a petrologist in the field of economic geology, investigating specific magmatic processes that contribute to ore formation. She completed both her Msc and PhD at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, where she specialised in the topic of sulfide saturation in volcanic rocks and its role to porphyry and epithermal deposit formation. Ariadni then proceeded with post-doc studies as a SNSF mobility fellow to conduct research at GNS Science in New Zealand and study the behavior of metals and volatiles in Brothers submarine volcano associated with sea floor massive sulfide deposit. Her research made use of several micro-analytical techniques including SEM, EPMA, LA-ICP-MS and QEMSCAN. *Ery Hughes* (she/her) is a volcanic fluid geochemist in the volcanology team at Te PÅ« Ao | GNS Science in Aotearoa New Zealand interested in the behaviour of volatiles in magmatic systems. Her PhD developed techniques using the electron probe to measure iron oxidation state and water contents in silicate glass. *Lee Saper* is an igneous petrologist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh. He is interested in thermodynamics and chemical kinetics in igneous systems, comparative planetology, and using x-ray and electron beam microanalytical techniques to unravel the mysteries of natural and synthetic materials. *The rest of our Speakers to be presented are: *James Day (University of San Diego, SCRIPPS), Stamatios Flemetakis (University of Muenster), Anette von der Handt (University of British Columbia), Ery Hughes (Te PÅ« Ao | GNS Science), Rosie Jones (WDS Product Manager at Oxford Instruments NanoAnalysis), Pierre Lanari (University of Bern), and Stuart Kearns (University of Bristol). Based on our experience, we are pretty sure that this workshop will provide VALUABLE new knowledge for the undergraduate students, postgraduates, PhD, postdocs, senior scientists, and lab managers. Every participant will have the chance to learn the basics and more advanced aspects of electron probe microanalysis. ALL the previous will be given for a nominal fee of *30 euros *that will cover the basic expenses for the hosting platform etc. All the participants will have access on the recorded material up to 2 weeks after the end of the workshop.
