3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 From: "Maguire, Ross" <rossrm@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Dear Colleagues, We are happy to invite you to submit an abstract to the AGU 2022 Fall Meeting session â??V010. Multi-disciplinary Perspectives on the Structure, Dynamics, and Evolution of Large Silicic Continental Magma Reservoirs <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm22/prelim.cgi/Session/159064__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!e0BunkaLFAv2hFehSe-DKJUswFW-y3Z6HPeMOpGCaadgYDK2joJJ6jQ1v8pdhRUHTGIQ6R5z1RoAtbwKAA$>â??. Abstracts are due on August 3rd and the meeting will be held December 12-16 both in person in Chicago and online. Additional details are below. *Session Description:* Explosive caldera-forming eruptions are fed by voluminous magma reservoirs that likely span the crust and uppermost mantle. Geophysical evidence suggests that many large modern-day silicic calderas are underlain by contemporary magma reservoirs, yet a comprehensive understanding of these systems, including the distribution of melt and potential for future eruptions, remains elusive. Further progress towards improving our understanding of continental magma reservoirs relies on integrating constraints across different fields, including but not limited to, petrology, seismology, geodesy, magnetotellurics, and geodynamics. As such, we welcome contributions from all areas of geoscience focused on key questions concerning continental magma reservoirs, including the time scale of magma storage in the crust, the depth, volume, and melt distribution within magma storage networks, the time scale between assembly, triggering and eruption of historic events, and assessing uncertainties in magma reservoir properties. *Invited Authors:* Sin-Mei Wu (ETH Zürich) Dawid Szymanowski (ETH Zürich) We look forward to seeing you at the meeting, Ross Maguire Chengxin Jiang Trish Gregg Madison Myers 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 ------------------------------
