1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 From: Bettina Scheu <b.scheu@xxxxxx> We are re-opening the the ESR position at LMU Munich associated to the ITN-project IMPROVE. *Project description* The objectives of this project are to determine permeability and resultant volatile flux as well as their evolution with respect to petrology and alteration, in the shallow geothermal field of Krafla caldera, Iceland, down to the magma/rock interface (<2 km depth) and further to link volatile flux through a characterized permeable network to seismic patterns and their evolution in time. The project has a strong experimental, lab-based component dealing with acoustic emission (AE) measurements and analysis of obtained signals working at elevated PT conditions; it is complemented with the physicochemical and textural characterization of surface, subsurface & magmatic rocks and the determination of the effects of hydrothermal alteration on petrophysical properties using state-of the-art methodology. *General information* This position is one of the 15 Early Stage Researcher (ESR) positions within the Marie SkÅ?odowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (ITN-ETN) IMPROVE. In IMPROVE, 15 Early Stage Researchers are trained for innovative research in volcano science extending across the academia-industry bridge, and including cooperative work, leadership skills, and independent thinking. Volcano science includes innovative monitoring and prospecting to advanced laboratory experiments, High Performance Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
