From: Benjamin Black <bb721@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

The Rutgers University Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences invites
applications for a postdoctoral associate with interests at the interface
of volcanism and climate. Starting Spring or Summer 2022, the candidate
will join the Rutgers Volcano Lab (https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://rutgersvolcano.weebly.com__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!OfpPYRh-zERVYKfHKAA3rGep0W0XIf_Pen7JwKmTjzWxdi95HnooOoseYdqCW-Y$

working with Dr. Ben Black, with potential collaborations within and beyond
Rutgers.

While the specific research focus is open, possible project themes include
volatiles in large-scale magmatic systems, quantifying the climate effects
of volcanism, the timescales of magmatic processes, how magma plumbing
systems evolve through the life cycle of volcanoes, and planetary
volcanism. Analytical tools available in the Rutgers Volcano Lab and EPS
include an electron microprobe, Raman microscope, and a range of mass
spectrometers and sample preparation facilities.

Please email bblack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with any questions or to discuss
potential projects in more detail.
