The field camp is a 4-credit course taught over a period of 3.5 weeks in late summer. The camp has been taught annually since 2012. The course is a blend between a traditional geology field camp mapping course and an introduction to physical volcanology. Ideal candidates will have field camp teaching experience, a background in petrology/volcanology, and some experience in Iceland, though the latter is not essential. The intention is to hire individuals who will teach at the camp annually, on an ongoing basis. A Ph.D. is required, and applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. (even though the instruction is delivered overseas).
