A virtual short course on September 28, 2021 will help you â??find your voiceâ?? and learn how to communicate hazards and science information. Join earthquake and volcano hazards science communicators Beth Bartel, Wendy Bohon, Wendy Stovall, and Liz Westby, as they highlight real world experiences and provide expert advice on how to get your message heard. This course is highly interactive, with many opportunities to ask questions and build communications skills. The first half of the workshop focuses on general effective communication skills and network building. The second half builds skills, like working with the media, effective communication on social media, and best practices for communicating uncertainty, hazard, and risk. The short course is offered as part of the Geological Society of America 2021 Annual Meeting. The virtual short course will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 9:00 AM â?? 1:00 PM (PDT).
