Dear Colleagues,

Please consider submitting your abstract to our session: V010 -
Geochemical, geophysical, and geomorphological expressions of lithospheric
removal and its influence on early Earth through modern geodynamic
processes. This session is cross-listed with Tectonophysics, Earth and
Planetary Surface Processes, and Study of the Earth's Deep Interior.

Session Description:
Lithospheric removal involves a variety of processes that range in spatial
extent from large-scale lithospheric foundering to small-scale drips.
Expressions of lithospheric removal can take many forms and are understood
using a variety of geoscience disciplines including, but not limited to,
the geochemistry of lavas and their xenolith cargo, shallow and deep
geophysical observations, and geomorphic changes in response to
lithospheric detachment. The broader implications of lithospheric removal
have applications to the dynamic evolution of the Earth, from ancient to
modern, as well as other planetary bodies. This session aims to highlight
new and innovative research from the diverse fields that investigate
lithospheric removal, uniting them into a common framework that will
further our understanding of this geological phenomena. We encourage
submissions from a variety of disciplines investigating the causes and
effects of lithospheric removal.

Conveners
Shelby Bowden - Pennsylvania State University
Carlos Gomez - Southern Illinois State University
Wendy R. Nelson - Towson University

The abstract submission deadline is 4 August at 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT
