The deadline for application is next 6th July, with the expected start on 1st September 2021. Title of the research: "Development of methodologies for the assessment of volcanic hazards at Mt. Etna" Main activities: Volcanic hazard studies (mainly from lava and pyroclastic flows), research and development for the improvement of numerical codes, management of codes in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment, and development of probabilistic methodologies for multi-hazard Requirements for eligibility: In addition to all the requirements provided by law for access to public employment, the following cultural requirements are required for admission to the selection: - Masterâ??s degree (course of study not less than four years) in Earth sciences, physics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or equivalent graduations to be evaluated during the admission procedure; - Good knowledge of at least one scientific programming language (e.g. C/C++, Fortran, Python); - Good knowledge of English. Funding: The grant has a duration of 16 months. Subject to progress verification and funding availability, it may possibly be renewed. The research activities will be carried on at the INGV sections of Catania and/or Pisa (Italy). Salary: the gross annual remuneration is set at â?¬ 19,367.00 (Nineteen thousand three hundred and sixty-seven/00 Euros).
