The successful candidates will play a key role in an NSF-funded project working in the Andean Central Volcanic Zone of Bolivia and Chile. Projects are broadly focused on addressing timescales of magma accumulation at composite volcanoes along and behind the modern arc front. Students will work in a collaborative environment and gain exposure to a variety of disciplines within Earth science and geography both in the department and on the project. Full financial support including teaching and research assistantships will be provided for the students. Candidates should have at least an undergraduate degree in geology or a related area, and excellent analytical and writing skills. Prior research experience using geochemical and geochronological data would be beneficial.
