Dear colleagues,

Iâ??m pleased to say that the special issue of Geosciences (MDPI) on
magma-hydrothermal systems is now available in book form as a single pdf
file for free (open access) or in hard cover at modest cost:

https://www.mdpi.com/books/pdfview/book/2782

The other editors and I believe that the linkage of magma to hydrothermal
systems deserves greater attention, especially now that the boundary zone
between them has been penetrated by drilling. Hydrothermal convection
controls the cooling of magma, and conversely magma drives hydrothermal
convection, influencing the sustainability of geothermal power production.
Topics of papers range from surface manifestations in phreatomagmatic
explosions and geyser phenomena to the fossil record of
magma-hydrothermal-ore systems and the quenching and sampling of magma at
depth by drilling. The volume is notable for the diversity of perspectives
and nationalities represented by both authors and editors.
