1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 From: Socheata SEAN <socheata.sean@xxxxxx> Dear All, The University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship on independent research of the applicantâ??s choosing that will fit into the research themes of the project â??Natural disaster risks and socio-economic vulnerabilityâ?? (Earth and environmental sciences, economics, mathematics, laws, human and social sciences, health sciences). The project aims at studying complex interactions between societies and natural disasters, in particular volcanic risks in developing countries and the path between research and political decision-making. Research activities may relate to physical and socio-economic impacts of natural hazards, hazardâ??risk evaluation, vulnerabilityâ??resilience assessment, or risk/hazard communication strategies. Contract may start from 1st September 2020. Fellowship is supported for 24 months and includes a research allowance. The gross annual salary is â?¬ 30,700-32,800 depending on experience and includes a benefits package (health insurance plus retirement and unemployment benefits). Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time of application. They are requested to submit their own original research proposal in the field of the study of interactions between societies and natural disasters (limited to no more than 5 pages of A4, including budget), a CV (including a list of publications, description of thesis and any postdoctoral research), a letter of motivation, and the PDF copies of up to five publications. The deadline for applications is 15 June 2020. Research projects will be selected based on scientific excellence and innovation.
