Dear Friends and Colleagues,



Applications are open for the INTERNATIONAL VOLCANOLOGY FIELD COURSE,

FIFTH EDITION, which will take place in Manizales (Colombia) from July 25th

to August 01st, 2020. This course is organised by the Stratigraphy and
Volcanology

Research Group from the Universidad de Caldas.



The cost of the course is: Undergraduate students: 350 USD; Graduate
students (470 USD); Professionals (590 USD).



The course payment covers all expenses during the six-days field trip and

lunch and snacks during the two-days theoretical session in Manizales.



During the field trip, many volcanoes are visited, including the iconic

Nevado del Ruiz and the place where the Armero town was located before the

1985 eruption. The course also offers the option of visiting the
Geological, Paleontological and Archaeological museum of the University of
Caldas, and the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory in Manizales
which is part of the Colombian Geological Survey.



The course language will be Spanish (although some translation to English
can take place) with the following invited speakers:
