Cities on Volcanoes 11 Conference taking place at Heraklion, Crete, 23-27
May 2020. It is a session that aims to connect the scientific community and
the local community, emergency administration and management altogether.
Abstract submission is open from now until the 2nd of February 2020 (
https://pcoconvin.eventsair.com/volcanoes11/abstracts).

*Convenor*: Antonio Colombi

*Description*:

*Scientific research is the first important step in creating risk scenarios
for emergency planning. The civil protection plans can be a valid tool for
the transfer of scientific data on emergency instruments applied to the
territory with administrative-operative language. The relationship of trust
between the scientific community and the administration, on the one hand,
and the population, on the other, must be the element that must always be
safeguarded in order to manage a possible emergency in the most suitable
and efficient way. The active and synergic participation of citizens, the
scientific community and the Administration in creating a shared civil
protection plan must be the modern goal of an integrated civil protection
system.*
