Dear colleagues,

We encourage you to submit an abstract to the following session for the AGU
2019 Fall Meeting:

**GH012 - Geohealth Action! Helping Communities Thrive on a Constantly
Changing and Often Hazardous Planet Through Communication, Dissemination,
and Application of Research Results**

Do you undertake research in any aspect of geoscience that impacts our
communities? Do you actively communicate and apply research results to
improve the health and wellbeing of society? Around the world, we study
every aspect of this planet and the hazards and resources that it contains.
With increasing populations and a changing climate, and therefore,
increased exposure to hazards, it is our responsibility to turn our
research into accessible and relevant products while working with
communities, decision makers, and stakeholders; disseminate helpful
information to ensure accessibility of results; and openly engage with our
intended audiences using the available tools and networks. Tools and
networks include community engagement, social media, media, stakeholder
engagement, scenarios, and more. This session encourages communicators,
scientists, and those who apply science across disciplines, to share case
studies, experiences, critical evaluation, and research towards more
effectively turning our work into action.

Kind regards from the session convenors,

Janine Krippner, Smithsonian Institution Global Volcanism Program

Claire J. Horwell, Durham University

Kenneth W Hudnut, USGS
