Dear Colleagues,

To celebrate the advent of the SAOCOM mission (Satélite Argentino de
Observación COn Microondas), which will provide scientific community with
an unprecedented amount of L-band SAR data over South America, we are
proposing a special issue on the Journal of South American Earth Sciences
(JSAMES), entitled â??New advances on SAR Interferometry in South Americaâ??.
The main goal of this special issue is to highlight the advances of SAR
Interferometry and Speckle Tracking techniques that have been gained in
South America since 2014, year in which ESA Sentinel 1â??s and JAXA ALOS2
sensors began to systematically acquire data over the entire region. We are
going to submit a short proposal to the journal by mid July 2019, and, once
accepted, we expect a deadline for the submission of papers in November
2019.

As part of the proposal to JSAMES, we need to submit a tentative list of
authors and manuscript titles. Therefore, we ask that interested
authors *contact
us by July 15, 2019*, by addressing the tentative titles or subjects for
the manuscripts they would like to submit to our special issue. Contacting
us does not commit you to submitting a manuscript -- it is solely for the
purposes of demonstrating the potential composition of the issue for the
journal publishers.

We hope you are interested in contributing to this opportunity to showcase
recent advances in SAR Interferometry in South America.

If you have any questions, need more information, or want to submit your
potential title/subject, please contact Pablo Euillades (
pablo.euillades@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).

We look forward to hearing from you,

Antonio Pepe (pepe.a@xxxxxxxxxxx)
Leonardo Euillades (leonardo.euillades@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
