This first meeting will take place in Antofagasta, Chile, between 3-7 November 2019. *Session description:* Nowadays, distances and physical boundaries seem to be greatly reduced thanks to improvements in communication tools. Taking advantage of this, groups of early career volcanologists from different parts of the world have started to gather and establish international cooperation networks. United by similar socio-cultural backgrounds and common challenges, networks like Young Latin American Volcanologists (Jóvenes Volcanólogos Latinoamericanos â??JVLA) and Young Chilean Volcanologists propose innovative ways of interaction between the new generations of Latin American volcanologists. As part of the effort to develop the discipline in Latin American, these groups recognize the importance of extending these networks to others regions of the planet. This could be translated as new professional and cultural learning opportunities. But, how are the early career volcanologists organized in other regions of the world? Is there any other similar network to the ones develop in Latin American? Or any other following a different approach? In this session, we would like to invite you to submit contributions that show experiences of networks of early career volcanologists in Latin American and others regions of the world. Together, we will discuss advantages and disadvantages identified in the different experiences, challenges that networks have had to sort out and others topics that can contribute to improve and strength the existing networks and the bonds between them. El mismo se llevará adelante en la ciudad de Antofagasta, Chile, entre el 3 y 7 de noviembre de 2019. *Descripción de la sesión* En una época en la cual las barreras fÃsicas parecen acortarse gracias a las mejoras en las herramientas y vÃas de comunicación, grupos de jóvenes volcanólogos de diversos rincones de la región han comenzado a contactarse y establecer redes de trabajo y cooperación. Reconociéndose en identidades socioculturales y desafÃos comunes, agrupaciones como Jóvenes Volcanólogos Latinoamericanos (JVLA) y Jóvenes Volcanólogos Chilenos, proponen formas inéditas de interacción entre las nuevas generaciones de volcanólogos latinoamericanos. Como parte del esfuerzo en el desarrollo de la disciplina en Latinoamérica, desde estos espacios también se reconoce la importancia de vincularse con otras realidades del planeta, entendiendo estos vÃnculos como oportunidades de aprendizaje profesional y cultural. Pero, ¿cómo se configura el espacio joven de la volcanologÃa en otras regiones del mundo? ¿Existen agrupaciones similares o acaso, formas de organización alternativas?
