Dear colleagues,


We are pleased to announce the *GRANITES II Summer School *on the
topic of *â??magmatic
differentiationâ??* *(https://granites.sciencesconf.org/
<https://granites.sciencesconf.org/>)*. This school will be held at the
biological station of Roscoff, on the coast of the French Britany, France,
from *8 â?? 12 july, 2019*.

This edition brings together prestigious experts on magmatic
differentiation with complementary approaches: field studies, experimental
petrology, geochemistry, petrophysics, modeling, and geochronology. The
format of this summer school is based on comprehensive courses (2 hours)
followed by less formal exchanges. Seminal courses will expose the story of
the ideas together with the most recent findings. Round table discussions
will then follow to identify the new challenges for an historical
disciplinary. *GRANITES* welcomes PhD students and postdoc fellows together
with more experienced researchers.


*Speakers:*

*Olivier Bachmann, Georges Bergantz, Othmar Muntener, Jon Blundy, Marian
Holness, Wolfgang Maier, Fidel Costa, Bruno Scaillet, Jean-Francois Moyen,
John Clemens, and Wendy Bohrson*.

*Michel Pichavant* & *Erwan Hallot* will present an introduction of the
field trip at the famous Ploumanac'h district.


*Express your interest ASAP:*

GRANITES II can accommodate a maximum of 50 participants. The procedure
consists in submitting a cover letter (1 page max), detailing your
motivation and scientific interests in participating to GRANITES II.


*Important dates:*

-Expression of interest, before April 15, 2019 (see
https://granites.sciencesconf.org/). Acceptance by the scientific committee
will be communicated before May 5, 2019.

-Registration and payment before May 15, 2019
