Multidisciplinary Studies on Volcanic and Igneous Plumbing Systems* at the IUGG general assemmbly in Montreal in July. Session description: Since the processes that occur within the volcanic plumbing system prior to, during, and after volcanic eruptions are dynamic and complex, our attempts to understanding these processes must be multi-disciplinary. Recent years have seen successful attempts to study magma storage and transport using combinations of geological, volcanological, geophysical, geodetic, structural, petrological and geochemical methods.
