We are advertising 3 post-doc positions on the project â??Volcanic plume
understanding and forecasting: Integrating remote-sensing, in-situ
observations and models (V-PLUS)â??, funded by the Natural Environment
Research Council.

- *Research Associate in Volcanology (University of Manchester)*

There are two key and connected areas of research: (i) coupling of
eruption column, umbrella cloud and plume dispersion models; (ii)
production of SO2 flux and plume height time series through
back-trajectory calculations and plume dispersion inversion modelling
applied to newly available TROPOMI SO2 satellite data from the
SENTINEL-5P platform.

- *Research Associate - Numerical modelling of volcanic plume dispersion
and volcanic impacts (University of Cambridge)*

Developing numerical models and mathematical tools to simulate the
dispersion of volcanic plumes, and to assess their atmospheric and
societal impacts, working in close collaboration with the UK Met Office

- *Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Volcanic Plume Measurements and
Process Understanding (University of Oxford)*

Making in-situ and ground-based remote sensing measurements of gas,
aerosol and ash in volcanic plumes
