Electron Microprobe Specialist, Department of Earth Sciences, Univ. of
Hawaii at Manoa.


Applications are now being accepted for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 50%
state and 50% other funded Specialist Faculty position to be filled at the
Assistant or Associate level (commensurate with qualifications and
experience), to begin approximately March 2019 or as mutually acceptable.
Position is annually renewable, subject to performance review and
availability of funds.

Duties include: the management of the JEOL JXA-8500F field-emission gun
electron microprobe with EDS (and related support equipment) at high
performance levels, including routine maintenance not covered by a service
contract and troubleshooting, manage all aspects of the laboratory
including recharge account and purchasing supplies, annually teach a
graduate level course in Electron Microprobe Analysis, Train new users of
the electron microprobe, oversee the lab use by others;, participate in
research projects utilizing this microprobe, and assist with compliance to
UH safety protocols.Minimum qualifications for the Assistant level include
a Masterâ??s degree and for the Associate level a Ph.D. degree. The complete
