PhD students and their supervisors are particularly welcome. We also encourage young researchers, either independent or co-authored by experienced scientists coming from both established and emerging space powers, who study volcanism of planets and their satellites. We seek papers on all aspects of planetary volcanology, including cryovolcanism on smaller bodies of the solar system that have not received sufficient coverage in the literature of planetary volcanology. Interdisciplinary collaboration among authors of this special issue is encouraged. We offer the following themes as guidelines but we accept broader topics that update recent advances in more traditional planetary studies: a. Volcanism and planetary missions: proposing new landing sites for future outposts and exploration of resources. b. Exploring geomorphological similarities and differences: how similar channels were formed by lava and cryolava, respectively; how both silicate volcanism and cryovolcanism formed similar domical structures; how both silicate volcanism and cryovolcanism erupted through fissures; why silicate volcanism formed calderas whilst cryovolcanism not. c. How volcanism evolved through time; a general discussion that may suggest future direct in-situ geochronological measurements and broader ideas on the evolution of volcanism through time in the various bodies of the solar system. d. The use of techniques to investigate multiple datasets in volcanic topics.
