Dear all,


The Department of Geography, Geology and Planning at Missouri State University is looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated graduate students for a variety of research areas in Geology, Environmental, and Geospatial Sciences starting in August 2018. As a multidisciplinary department within the College of Natural and Applied Science, GGP draws students from a variety of STEM backgrounds. The applicants should have a strong interest in one (or more) of the following topics: structural geology, geomorphology and environmental geology, satellite imagery (radar, optical), photogrammetry and sUAS mapping, trace element and isotope geochemistry, and volcanology.

 

Potential projects in petrology, mineral chemistry and volcanology include (other projects available from additional faculty in the department):

 

-Crystal Trace element and Isotope Stratigraphy of andesite lava flows

-sUAS mapping of pyroclast distribution in volcanic deposits

-Method development for single crystal trace element analysis by ICPMS  

  

We offer 2 years of financial support toward the completion of a Master’s of Science degree. Qualified students are eligible to receive a teaching assistantship that carries a full tuition scholarship and a competitive stipend.
