Dear colleagues,
We remind you that there is still time to join our post-meeting field workshop that will be held at Stromboli from 8 to 13 September. The deadline for registering for CoV10 workshops is Friday June 15th 2018. Workshop registration can be done at this link:
The workshop is targeted for volcanologists and volcanophiles interested in the use of field-based techniques for observing /monitoring active volcanoes.
The activity will consist in the deployment of a range of instruments on the volcano, that will be in large part provied by the organisers. Participants are also welcome to carry and to illustrate their own equipment, though this is not mandatory.
The program
includes some
days of fieldwork, plus some
days of discussion on the data acquisition and observed activity. Fieldwork implys daily excursions to the top of Stromboli, requiring on average 3 hours climbing on the way up and 2 hours on the way down. The daily schedule and access to the summit will be subject to local metereological conditions and volcanic activity. The workshop has the sponsorship and support of the IAVCEI Commission on Explosive Volcanism.Organizers: Jacopo Taddeucci, Piergiorgio Scarlato, Elisabetta Del Bello, Tullio Ricci, Daniele Andronico, Ulrich Kueppers.
