Dear all,

We are soliciting a contribution for a special issue in the Journal of “Annals of Geophysics” entitled:

"New analytical techniques for understanding volcanic systems, from magma generation to the emplacement of volcanic products".

The development of new tridimensional (3D) analytical techniques of volcanic materials represents a new frontier in the world of modern volcanology. These advances not only offer an important and reliable information on, e.g., magma vesiculation, degassing and crystallization processes but can also shade light on the transportation capability of pyroclastic particles into the atmosphere
and in volcanic flows in general. Hence, these novel approaches have the potential to contribute both to the understanding eruption dynamics towards volcanic hazard quantification.

The deadline for the manuscript submission is 30th June 2018. More details can be found here: www.annalsofgeophysics.eu.

Moreover, we would also like to draw your attention on the session S1.25 on the same topic of special volume at the next “Cities on Volcanoes 10” conference held in Naples (Italy), 2-7 of September 2018. We would like to hear about your work and encourage you to submit your abstract.

Kind regards,

Daniela Mele (Dipartimento di Sicenze della Terra e Geoambientali, Univeristy of Bari, Italy . daniela.mele@xxxxxxxx) and Fabio Dioguardi ((British Geological Survey, United Kingdom • fabiod@xxxxxxxxx)
