Subject: CALL for a special issue of Annals of Geophysics

We are soliciting contributions for the special issue in the Journal of “Annals of Geophysics” entitled:

"Uncertainty Quantification in Lava Flow Hazard Modeling and Real-Time Source Term Provision".

State-of-the-art is such that, today, we can provide, in near-real time, satellite-data derived source terms and key in-situ measurements for use by physical lava flow models to allow timely and reliable inundation projections, forecasts and hazard assessments aimed at supporting emergency responses. However, the ability of these modeling efforts to support efficient and effective risk management is determined to a large degree by how well the propagation of uncertainty from input through the model to the output has been assessed. Therefore, before hazard modeling results can be understood, evaluated, and effectively applied to support decision making, it is necessary to quantify uncertainties within the hazard assessment process.

The deadline for the manuscript submission is 30th June 2018. More details can be found here: www.annalsofgeophysics.eu.

If you have any questions, please send email to: ciro.delnegro@xxxxxxx

Looking forward your participation,

All the best,
