Dear colleagues,
A new website with information on Icelandic volcanism has been designed and is now open for public (http://icelandicvolcanoes.is/
The Catalogue of Icelandic Volcanoes is an open-access web resource intended to serve as an official source of information about volcanoes in Iceland for both public and decision makers. It contains text and graphic information on all active volcanic systems in Iceland, as well as real-time data from monitoring systems in a format that enables non-specialists to understand the volcanic activity status.
The CIV is a collaboration of the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO), the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Iceland, and the Civil Protection Department of the National Commissioner of the Iceland Police, with contributions from a large number of specialists in Iceland and elsewhere and was funded by the ICAO, the EU through the project FUTUREVOLC and the Icelandic government.
If you have any comments or further questions regarding the Catalogue, please use the Feedback button or write directly to the editor at bergrun@xxxxxxxx.
Enjoy the new Catalogue of Icelandic Volcanoes!!"
Volcano Listserv is a collaborative venture among Arizona State University (ASU), Portland State University (PSU), the Global Volcanism Program (GVP) of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History, and the International Association for Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI).
