The Institute of Geochemistry and Petrology at ETH Zurich invites applications for a specialist in electron microbeam techniques (electron microprobe and SEM) to be filled in late 2017- early 2018.
The position includes a 50 % appointment (preferably every morning of the week), which involves (1) help in taking care of the instruments (Jeol microprobe and SEM) and (2) help daily users acquiring the highest quality data. The successful candidate will work in a team with a senior scientist, but prior electron microbeam experience is required. The position is extended to 80-100 % employment with a research component. The successful candidate will be part of active research groups at ETH focusing on experimental petrology, magmatology and volcanology, and there will be opportunities to interact with well-established groups in geochemistry, geophysics, geodynamic modeling and economic geology.
