IAVCEI Field Trip C7:  Evolution of the Columbia River Basalt Province

We invite you to participate in a 7-day post-meeting trip that transects the center of the flood-basalt source region.  It provides an opportunity to observe and discuss a great variety of volcanic features associated with flood-basalt genesis, and more regional aspects of the tectonomagmatic evolution of the US Pacific Northwest, all while traveling through the spectacular canyon country of eastern Oregon and southwestern Washington.  An added bonus on the third day of the trip is the rare opportunity to view a total eclipse of the sun.

The cost is $700/person, which includes transportation, lodging, breakfasts, and lunches.  For more information and registration please go to http://iavcei2017.org, and/or email Vic Camp at vcamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Trip leaders: Vic Camp, Steve Reidel, Rich Brown and Steve Self
