Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of Lutz Nasdala, Igor Broska, and Milan Novak you are invited to attend the CAM - 2017 Conference on Accessory Minerals to be held at the University of Vienna from September 13 though 17.

The aims and scope of the conference are as follows:

It is now 15 years since the pioneering review paper "The current state and future of accessory mineral research" by Poitrasson et al. (2002; Chemical Geology vol. 191) has appeared. Enormous progress has been made since, which was especially stimulated by the invent of new analytical and imaging techniques. This conference aims at bringing together researchers and students who investigate accessory mineral species, especially those that contain high field strength elements (HFSE). We look forward to interesting discussions on new research results that enable us to extract information on primary formation and post-growth history of accessory minerals and their host rocks.

Keynote speakers include:

Gregory Lumpkin, Raymond MacDonald, and Urs Schaltegger.

Registration and hotel booking is now open on the following website:

A post-conference field trip on the  ‘ Rocks and accessory minerals in southern Slovakia and Moravia ‘ is planned.

Early bird registration and free abstract submission end on May 31.

All questions regarding the conference should be directed towards Lutz Nasdala (lutz.nasdala@xxxxxxxxxxxx).
