Subject: Postdoc opportunity in InSAR at the Piton de la Fournaise Volcanological Observatory - Reminder
*********************************************************************************************************

A 16-months Post Doctoral Research Associate position is available at the Piton de la Fournaise Volcanological Observatory (OVPF-IPGP), La Reunion Island, to work in the framework of the French ANR-funded project: «Volcano destabilizations: from observation to an integrated model of active deformation.

The PDRA is expected to work on ground surface displacement related to volcanic activity at Piton de la Fournaise using Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry. The main goal of this research is to analyse jointly conventional InSAR, PSInSAR, GNSS data and stereo-photogrammetry, using a PCAIM approach, to both constrain the deformation extension and to detect small-scale deformation associated with the long-term shifts of eastern flank of Piton de la Fournaise, and to implement these routine (open source and specific development) at the OVPF volcano observatory.

The PDRA will exploit the large InSAR database on Piton de la Fournaise available through the OI2 Observation Services (http://wwwobs.univ-bpclermont.fr/SO/televolc/volinsar/indexEN.php). The candidate will lead its research at the Piton de la Fournaise Volcano Observatory, La Reunion Island, and will also be involved in the duty Observatory tasks and will collaborate with the Observatory staff as well as with the OI2 staff in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

A PhD in Geophysics or related discipline with experience in handling InSAR and GNSS data, associated with computing and processing InSAR, PSInSAR, PCAIM are highly desirable.

The position is 16 months starting in June 2017.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and a statement of research plans (not to exceed 2 pages) and should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent (before March 2017) to:

Dr. A. Peltier (peltier@xxxxxxx),
