Dear colleagues,

We invite you to submit abstracts to our 2016 AGU session
If it quacks like a duck: Terrestrial analogs for planetary volcanism

Session Description:
Terrestrial analogs, invaluable tools for understanding and evaluating planetary volcanism, provide insight into inaccessible terrains throughout the Solar System. In addition to their use as interpretive aids for other planets, analog studies also create an opportunity to reevaluate our understanding of terrestrial systems when expected comparisons fail. This session focuses on exploring the mechanisms that drive high temperature magmatic and cryovolcanic processes through field campaigns, remote sensing and laboratory experiments. We welcome terrestrial volcanic analog studies across the full spectrum of scales and methods, and particularly encourage submissions focused on field applications.

Conveners:
Scott Hughes (Idaho State University, United States)
Shannon Kobs Nawotniak (Idaho State University, United States)
Alex Sehlke (NASA Ames, United States)

We're excited about the incredible planetary analog research going on in volcanology and look forward to gathering people together for great discussion.

We look forward to seeing you at AGU!

Best,
  Shannon, Scott, and Alex
