Dear Colleagues

We wish you all the best for the New Year!

A couple of years have elapsed since the last volcano geomorphological session at EGU. The recent years have seen the onset of applications of emerging techniques of remote sensing, geoinformatics, geomorphometry, numerical modelling as well as dating techniques and experimental methods in volcanic geomorphology. Now, by organizing again the session 'New methods and concepts in volcanic geomorphology' (GMPV5.4/GM1.8), we wish to gather presentations in the above and any other topics related to the growth and degradation of volcanic edifices from stratovolcanoes to scoria cones. For more details of the session, see http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2016/session/20833.

If interested, please consider submitting an abstract to the session New methods and concepts in volcanic geomorphology via the link http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2016/abstractsubmission/20833. Note that abstract submission deadline is 13 January 13:00 CET

Hope to meet you in Vienna!

The conveners:
Dávid Karátson (Eötvös University Budapest, Hungary)
Massimiliano Favalli (INGV Pisa, Italy)
Pierre Lahitte (Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France)
Matthieu Kervyn de Meerendre (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium)
Simone Tarquini (INGV Pisa, Italy)
Balázs Székely (Eötvös University Budapest, Hungary, and TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany)
